Volunteer
PAIR relies on volunteers with diverse backgrounds, including attorneys to represent our clients and to advise immigration detainees, as well as assistance from outside the legal field. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Rea Mae Gacad. We are always looking for:
- Attorneys interested in representing asylum-seekers pro bono.
- AILA members interested in participating in our program with the Immigration Court.
- Law students interested in unpaid legal internships.
- Interpreters, especially for Spanish, French, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Mandarin, Swahili, and numerous other languages.
- Human rights experts, doctors, and psychiatrists for critical help in serving our clients’ legal needs.
- Database programmers with experience in FileMaker 9; web designers; and public relations and marketing consultants.

Over the years, we have received millions in pro bono contributions that have been crucial to PAIR’s success. We ask firms to commit an annual financial contribution in order for PAIR to maintain the high level of quality mentoring and training we provide to pro bono attorneys. Firm support pays for our program costs and ensures PAIR's continued success in representing indigent asylum-seekers and immigrants unjustly detained. Contact Sarah Ignatius for more information.
