AILA/ PAIR Pro Bono Program with the Immigration Court
This successful collaboration with PAIR and the Immigration Court and the New England Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), launched in 2007, is PAIR's detention program tailored for AILA attorneys. The program recruits, trains, and mentors AILA pro bono attorneys to conduct Know Your Rights presentations and represent detained clients seeking release on bond and relief from removal. Through this program, over 75 AILA attorneys are now trained to give Know Your Rights presentations (KYRs) at immigration detention centers and to represent low-income detainees for release from detention on bond. This program has received the support and recognition of the Boston Immigration Court Judges and Court Administrator. If interested in participating, contact Antonio Castro Aranda. Below is the KYR schedule planned for 2009; please check back for changes or additions to the schedule. All KYRs are held on Wednesday mornings.
